Hi

We have received alot of emails over the past week or so regarding people getting the “limit of logged users” error when trying to access the Game Servers (Rooms). While this error normally shows when the Game Server is actually full, we are aware this error is showing for alot of people regardless of whether the Server is full or not. Here is why……

Adobe recently released a new update to the Flash Player. This new release contains fixes and updates for sites such as 8Baller.co.uk (those using Game Servers etc). Without going into too much detail, those of you who have downloaded the latest Flash Player update, are going to have difficulty entering the Game Servers, and are going to constantly see the “limit of logged users” error.

The Fix

We ARE working on a fix for this. We are aware of what needs to be done and what modifications needs to take place in our game and server set up to comply with the new Flash Player version. This fix is taking longer than expected. Please check back here to see how we are doing withthe fix, updates and announcements will be posted here.

UPDATE: 21/05/08 14:00 - We made the changes required but the game servers are still not accessible to users who have downloaded the latest flash player, we are still working on a fix.

UPDATE: 20/05/08 17:00 - We have begun making modifications to the system. More updates soon…

Just thought i would let the people who read this Development blog know some inside info. Me and the guys over @ 8Baller.co.uk have started work on a new multiplayer game. We aim to release the new game within the next month or so, with some super secret testing going on in the next few weeks. If you want the chance to test the new game, just reply to this post and il get in touch with you. Here are some features of the new game.

OK so we have just cleaned out the user databases and got rid of old or unused accounts. This helps us keep the databases nice and clean, and should speed the site up a little due to not having to look through junk data.
