Get Social.... on the Forums

Hey Everyone,

I aim to make 8Baller.co.uk a much more "social" site to be apart of. Think facebook, with friends and buddies, messaging and comments etc.

I think the mix of our great multiplayer pool game, and a good social side and features to the site will enhance the site.

So, you will slowly over the coming months see more and more features been added to the site, especially the forums. Eventually, when its all finished, you will all have one login for the game AND the forums.

Why bother?
Linking the game into the forum member system will allow us all to communicate better, your able to proper "buddy" lists, you can send players real Private messages that they can read later, better profile pages and many more features.

Things available now
I recently added the ability for everyone to update there forums "nicknames" and have seperate login usernames. This makes it easier to have the same details as your game account. You can update and change your nickname on forums to match your game nickname.

New Features
Just now, iv added some more profile page features:

• Profile Buddy Lists
• Profile Comments
• http://www.8baller.co.uk/forum/user-1.html <-- Examples
  

When someone adds you as a buddy on their own lists, you get a PM telling you someone added you.

When someone comments on your forum profile, you also get a PM telling you someone just commented. Your also able to delete any abusive comments. All comments are logged and abusive users will be banned from using the forums.

If you could all use these new features, that would be appreciated. Doing so will help the site become what i want it to be. Getting more people involved, profile commenting, buddys etc etc.

As said, over the coming months il be adding many more features to try and create a much more social 8baller, i want people to make friends on our site, enjoy and good game of pool, and come back the next day.

I see you've implemented some of the features you discussed with me last night. Very nice and I'm sure it will be effective with attracting new members. Testing the buddy feature now and it seems to be working fine.

1 Issue
When you add a buddy, and it takes you to that page saying "You've successfully added...." then it gives you a URL to click on, I think you need to fix that, because it wasn't clickable... all the coding showed. Maybe it was a one time thing, or maybe it was me... just letting you know.

Other than that, everything seems to be working just perfectly fine. Thanks Adam!

P.S- Minor Suggestion. Think you can add this feature?

It's a pain to look for a member to add to your buddy list. So in addition to having the "Add to your buddy list" feature on their profile, you think we can have a shortcut as well? See attachment below.
