Exclamation Forum Waiting Time
Hey,

I think there should be a waiting time before users can PM, Rate etc.
Because the other day I got someone who signed up just to give me a negative rate and then logged off :/

So if a new user just signed up they need 10 posts to PM & Give rates.

So if we had this suggestion in the forum then it would stop this, I have seen this setting on other forums also Big Grin

Thanks,
dominator

RE: Forum Waiting Time
I have seen this option too on other forums Dom, shouldnt be too hard to get it sorted and i think what people are doing is just plain stupid, signing up just to give negative rates out. In my opinion your negative comment should be removed and/or your suggestion should be looked into. I'm not sure why you would want to block them PM'ing poeple tho, theres no real harm in PM messages but the rate idea is a good one, Good Luck with your suggestion mate! Big Grin

RE: Forum Waiting Time
The PM idea is mainly just to get the users posting and then they have the privilege to PM others if they have 10 posts. You have to earn the right to PM instead of being able to do whatever without posting which is why we are here right? Not to PM people, That's just a bonus really.

Thanks everyone for the good comments Wink

RE: Forum Waiting Time
I think you still shouldnt be allowed to remove a rating ...example (not saying it would happen but...): If Dom was abusing a regular play and user of the forums then he should very well be expected to have a note on his record of that, there wouldnt be much use of a rating system if you could just keep the good ones to look better then you were. As for the PM side of things it should be open to all users to use as and when they please (regardless of how long they have been a member) and it should be your right to block a person from sending you a PM if thats the case...these are just my opinions but i think they are right ...(i may be a little biased tho haha Tongue )

Most forums use restrictions for certain actions like PM's until you have reached the threshold because they want to get people posting before they can receive the full features of the forum, Which I think is great and would make this forum that bit much more active!

Big Grin Thanks for adding to the idea!

RE: Forum Waiting Time
I agree with you Mike that we shouldn't be allowed to remove our negative ratings. I had the same opinion as Dom earlier, because I was bothered by some sad messages about my dead mother, my divorce (it was certainly my fault), take better care of my kids (because I was too much on the forums) etc. so I was very hurt and angry because it wasn't true at all. But on the other hand, there's no problem at all to contact a mod or admin to remove it for you like I did, and you're not able to remove other negative rates that you "deserve" as you say.
