FOOD FOR THOUGHT ...PLS ANYONE ADD YOURS :)
Forgive & Forget?
You may think I have a thing against the classic "words of wisdom"! But believe me, they inspire me to write like nothing else!! Lateral thinking is always thought as an arrogant nature. It is never accepted at the first hearing. It sounds like noise. It irritates and infuriates. Lateral thinkers are used to criticism. But they have a different spark that keeps them going. I'm not a great lateral thinker myself but I have some weird thoughts gathered. For example, I would always tell my friends that the opposite of "Love" can never be "Hate". Love means a peculiar fondness for a person and you care about him/her so much that he/she is always on your mind. Hate I believe is, just a component of Love, when you have the person on your mind but that doesn't make you happy. Infact, it either enrages you or saddens you. So, most people think that they are opposites! "Indifference", I believe is the opposite of Love. When you are indifferent, you don't have him/her on your mind at all. You do not care what happens to the person, come what may. That is quite the "opposite" of love! Needless to say, this theory was not accepted initially. It took a lot of heartbreaks and failed relations for people to understand, what I understood in One! Forgiving and Forgetting are two aspects of life which I would never be able to understand probably. I can understand what each one means individually, but together, it spells disaster! Forgiving a person is an act of sympathy or pity or even greatness. Forgiving is a subtle way of compromise between two individuals - the right one and the wrong one. Forgiving is a must, so that mistakes are mended and guilt eroded. Forgiving is necessary so that negatives do not overcome the positives and people bond better! Forgetting, either the mistake or the "bad" is unwarranted and unexplainable. It is true that a person can totally change. But it is not true that somebody else can't do the same thing again. However philosophical one gets and talks about being selfless, he always signs his own name under his "great words". Everyone thinks about happiness, his own happiness, and learns lessons from everything that saddens! You cannot afford to forget. Atleast so that you don't land up with the a disturbed mind and a crying heart again. Maybe, its because of this they say "Once hurt, its his/her fault. Twice hurt its mine!" I can forgive easily. But I cannot ever forget! Forgiving is a virtue but forgetting is a crime, For it would make you stumble one more time! And then don't you weep and trouble your heart, 'Coz it was "you" who never gave it a thought! MANY PEOPLE WILL WALK IN AND OUT OF YOUR LIFE BUT ONLY TRUE FRIENDS WILL LEAVE AN IMPRINT ON YOUR HEART!! |
