RE: host mod's
Regarding the team tourneys you can always reach a Mod via PM (Private Message) or talking to one when they are online. We are always there to help you out, yes timing is key factor here. So watch the logs as when who gets online, or simple pm a Mod to host it for you.

1. boot
2. lock room when got all players
3. clear chat
4. copy and paste nicks

Oi Kev its not a bad idea but lol i was thinking as like a being a HOST MOD lol did u work out on disadvantages lol, wat if a idiot like me was being a host booting i can understand they spam, locking room lol wat if like i lock a room and no players there Tongue or idiot always becomes a host mod and stays there saying im host lol it doesnt works out well to be honest but nice idea just that every thing in life does have its own side effects and one does need to see advantages and disadvantages too Tongue

Nice!! Big Grin

Yup Kev i agree, you have a good idea here and if the creases were ironed out it would be great. I think the easiest way so solve your problems though is if you posted onto your tournament thread that you wanted a mod to be there at your tourney at a specif time and then one of us could reply so you would know which mod was coming and also other people would notice you have requested mod and chances are they will stay clear anyways.

RE: host mod's
Very good idea there Mike, but still there are more random tourneys then there are mods. available many times. I guess with so many hosts we have now, there will always be a lack of a mod. to cover all tournaments Smile

RE: host mod's
I agree Tiram, with random tourneys at least, they are unpredictable and happen at random...hence the name but i mean with team tournaments, im positive a mod could be available at all team tourneys if requested. I still don't think locking rooms etc would be very helpful tho. Your problem is abusive players spamming and causing trouble in tourney's. Then why not put them on ignore? they can carry on as they please and no one will see and then you report the player and they will be dealt with. Locking a room would help in some cases but would hurt in others too... For instance, what if a player gets dc and wants to rejoin the room? There will have to be another system in place to let players back in, i.e...a passworded room etc, but then this brings an added advantage for cheaters, they goto a room, get their friend to come with their password or whatever and then they are free to sit in that room and play how they please and who knows what they will be doing, would bring more cheaters about. I think whatever powers were given to a host of a tourney would be abused also, they would boot at random and most would become power hungry and start acting like they own the place.

Just say a host of a tourney was to get these powers. How would the site know who to give to and who not to give to? And how long would these powers last if each person was to have them? There seems like alot of work here for something that can be solved as easily as putting a user on the ignore list. Although i think you have a good idea with this suggestion i don't think regular users should be given controls like that. I have seen alot of hosts about that have previously been banned or have been or still are abusers towards other members that would no doubt try and get these powers if they were available, but should a host who has previously been an abuser be allowed to have powers that would let him have a greater power over people on site? There would have to be guidelines for who got it if it was available and that would count half of the hosts out anyway as they don't have a clean history.
